Job Description

About the Role:

As a Senior Risk Specialist , you will lead efforts in managing risk events and issues across critical business functions. Each event you manage functions like a mini project—requiring root cause analysis, strategic problem-solving, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant resolution. You will work in a dynamic environment where you juggle multiple priorities while improving the team's risk posture and supporting customer-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage containment, investigation, and remediation of risk events and issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams (product, operations, tech, analytics) and third-party partners
  • Analyze event data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Influence business units and ensure risk timelines and project milestones are met
  • Track and maintain all documentation and evidence in the risk system of record
  • Facilitate meetings and training sessions; escalate risks when appropriate
  • Drive continuous process improvements aligned with risk and customer outcomes
  • Represent the team as a subject matter expert (SME) in cross-functional meetings
  • Deliver well-structured reports and presentations to stakeholders and leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, military experience, or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Risk Management, Operations, or Financial Services Compliance
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military service
  • 1+ year of experience managing risk events or issues
  • Professional certifications (PMP, Six Sigma, or BPM)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
